  1. Instructions for: Experts Only Mercenary Simulator

  3. Joystick controls:
  4.     Forward    - Increase speed.
  5.     Back    - Reverse.
  6.     Left    - Turn left.
  7.     Right    - Turn right.
  8.     Back & left  - Fast turn left.
  9.     Back & right - Fast turn right.
  10.  
  11.         With button down on joystick changes view direction.
  12.     Forward    - View normal.
  13.     Back    - Rear view.
  14.     Left    - Left view.
  15.     Right    - Right view.
  16.         The view will return to normal if the direction of travel
  17.     changes or an object is hit.

  19. Mouse controls:
  20.     Mouse controls direction of fire.  Holding down left button fires
  21. grenade and rifle.  The higher the cross hairs on the screen the further
  22. the grenade will be thrown.  It is possible to kill yourself with your
  23. own grenade.

  26.     Object of the game is to head east.
  27.     Enemies do not communicate with each other.  Enemies know the
  28. initial start location of the player.  If the enemy can not see or hear the
  29. player then they are not sure where the player is.  When play begins all
  30. enemies are to the east of the player.   In the first 4 levels the enemies
  31. must kill you with their bayonets.  Look out for secret passwords.

  33. Display:
  34.     At the right side of the display are the following:

  36. 1.    Health indicator.  The player recieves 8 health points.  When all
  37.     the health points are gone the player is dead.
  38. 2.    Player lives left.  The player has 5 lives.
  39. 3.    Level indicator.  24 levels total.
  40. 4.    Move speed and direction indicator.  The direction is given as
  41.     a compass direction.  The longer the line the faster the speed.
  42. 5.    View direction indicator, also given as a compass direction.

  45. Special keyboard commands:

  47. q -    quit.
  48.  
  49.     Keys 1 - 9 modify how far to look.  1 means short.  5 is normal.
  50. 9 is max.
